Reflexology is a healing practice aimed at working the 7,200 nerve endings found within the feet. These nerve endings connect to nerve pathways that lead to each and every organ, gland, and part of the body. Through the use of a unique thumb and finger walking technique on each foot, reflexology brings the body into homeostasis (balancing of the endocrine glands) and is capable of improving the functioning of all body systems, while leaving you with a feeling of balance and harmony.
Accumulation of stress and tension can occur within the foot, and the reflexology session helps to release built up tension. Reflexology can also serve to jump start the systems of the body into optimal health, by sending messages through the nerve endings to activate the systems. While reflexology will not diagnose or treat a particular disease, it will work to activate/enhance all of the systems and so help the body move toward optimal well being.
My recommendation is that you also engage in other healing modalities for self care for a multidimensional approach to achieve total health.
It is all about regainingbalance in life.
How Andrew came to reflexology....
When I first began my spiritual journey, some 30 years ago, my yoga teacher suggested I visit a reflexologist for self-care. I went every few months and she helped me improve my overall health. I loved the experience, but when I moved to Iowa City I never was able to locate a Reflexologist. Years later I completed a 300 hour program in Illinois at Healthy Soles School of Reflexology and I'm happy to offer you Reflexology Iowa City.
Since starting reflexology, I continue to be struck by the powerful effects of reflexology. The basis of reflexology is that the whole body is connected through the feet, and I see this play itself out time after time. I really enjoying sharing share this healing art with individuals, and allow each person to find balance and heal themselves. I hope you come down to try reflexology, and treat your feet to an experience of a lifetime. You have walked on them for many years-- how about giving them a little TLC:)
